How UK corporation tax actually works now
From 1 April 2023 the small profits rate is 19% on profits up to £50,000 and the main rate is 25% on profits over £250,000. Between £50k and £250k a marginal relief slice applies, giving an effective rate that rises smoothly from 19% to 25%. The thresholds are divided by the number of associated companies, so a group of three Ltds shares £16,667 / £83,333 thresholds - not £50k / £250k each. We map your group structure carefully to avoid surprise tax bills.
